Veldmark: privacy
Veldmark is a strategy game made by Veldmark Games LLC. In short: the game itself collects nothing about you, except what you choose to type into the AI Help Chat.
The game
- Your games are saved only on your own device, in your browser's storage. They are not sent to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser's data for this site deletes them; Settings lets you keep a copy as a file.
- No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no cookies are used by the game. It loads nothing from other websites.
- The game keeps a short note of the pages you opened and buttons you pressed, on your device only, so that you can choose to include it when you send feedback. It is never sent unless you send it.
The AI Help Chat
"✨ AI Help Chat" lets you ask Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, how to play. Only when you send a message, the site passes it to Anthropic with what the game shows at that moment (the season, the page, your cash, your firms and the game's notices) and returns Claude's answer. We keep each conversation (your messages, the answers, that snapshot of the game, the version and an anonymous number for your device, and your tester code if you have one) to see where players get stuck and improve the game; it holds no name or email unless you type one. Conversations are kept for up to 400 days and deleted sooner on request. Anthropic processes the messages to answer them, under its commercial terms, by which it does not use them to train its models. The chat also stays on your device and can go with your feedback. Don't type anything personal into it. You can turn the button off in Settings.
Feedback
"Send feedback" sends nothing by itself. If you choose to email or share a note, it goes from your own email or messages app and we receive what you send: your note and, if you send it with Share or Download and leave those boxes ticked, the game and the record of what you did. Email sends the note alone. We use it only to improve the game, and delete it on request.
The mailing list
"Tell me when it's for sale" takes you to our sign-up page at Buttondown, a newsletter service. If you join, your email address is kept by Buttondown for us and used only to tell you when Veldmark is for sale. It is never sold or shared. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
Hosting
The game's pages are served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles your connection (for example your IP address) to deliver the page and protect the site. We don't receive or keep those records.
